Payments can be made by credit card or by prior approval through the accounting department. Terms are net 30 days from date of invoice. If any invoices are unpaid after 60 days, the account will become inactive until funds are received. Visa, MasterCard and American Express are accepted. Accounts past 30 days will be charged 3% of invoice

Valves and Kits

A fully assembled kit will take an inexperienced person about five (5) minutes to install. It will take about 15-20 minutes to install a basic kit.

Yes. Cold will not affect the Battery Watering Technologies system. Of course, the water delivery source needs to be protected from freezing.

Water Delivery

The best time to water batteries is at the end of an equalize charge cycle. However, a brand new battery may have shipped with a low electrolyte level. If the plates are exposed to air, add just enough water to cover the plates before starting the charge cycle.

To purge the air from the hose line, simply connect the 2.5 gravity feed tank to the watering system and disconnect several times. You can also shake or squeeze the line to force the air out of the top of the line. It is not imperative that you get all of the air out of the line, but it will help with the flow rate when you are filling your batteries.

This depends on how hard the batteries are working. Watering requirements are dependent on the application, charging methods, age of the battery and local climate. A lightly used battery may only require topping up once a month. We typically recommend watering batteries once a week.

A regular watering schedule is required for all batteries. To help keep track of your watering schedule, please request a battery watering calendar for each battery.

The i-LiteTM electrolyte level indicator is a great source to ensure you are alerted when your battery needs water.

Pressure

Battery Watering Technologies valves can be used with pressures between 3-35 PSI.

The water delivery source should be able to provide at least one gallon per minute of flow with a static pressure of between 30 and 90 PSI. If the water source has a static pressure above 90 PSI, we recommend using a PBR101 pressure regulator to reduce the incoming pressure.

Municipal water supplies vary in static pressure from very low to very high (150 PSI is the highest we've come across). For these supplies, we recommend filling with an approved BWT delivery item that has a built in regulator to drop the static pressure at the connector down to 10 PSI. If the municipal supply static pressure is above 90 PSI, we recommend a brass regulator upstream to knock the incoming pressure down. If a municipal supply has a very low pressure (<20 PSI) please contact us to discuss delivery item options. Care needs to be taken to ensure that you are matched up properly (you don't want to feed 10 PSI into a 20 PSI regulator).

If filling through the direct fill link (DF72), most of our competitor's water delivery sources will work. If the device is home-grown, we would like to review the specs (a 100 gallon/minute, 50 hp, 300 PSI device would not be recommended).

  3. Pump (or air pressure) driven portable tanks.

The direct fill link is available with most competitor quick connects. If you are filling using a mixture of BWT and competitors' systems, we recommend that you discuss the application with your Account Manager.
